What inspired you to become a therapist?

I was inspired to become a therapist when I realized that change is possible and that hope can be restored. Through my experience I learned that many of the triggers we face in the present are rooted in unresolved issues from our past. These patterns continue to surface until we bring them into awareness and take intentional steps toward healing and change. My goal as a therapist is to support others in recognizing these patterns and empowering them to do the work of transformation. I truly believe that there is always hope for change, and I am passionate about helping others discover their own capacity for growth and healing.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

I work with new and expectant parents who are navigating emotional challenges during their parenthood journey. I have helped clients experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety, infertility, grief following pregnancy loss, and those who have had a traumatic birth. I enjoy supporting all parents on their journeys and adjustment to parenthood

How would you describe your approach to therapy?

My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and person-centered. I'd describe myself as integrative, which means I don't use a rigid, one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I adjust how I work with each individual client based on what they need. I draw heavily from practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness. My first priority is always to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard and validated. From there, we work together to help you understand your feelings, build practical coping skills, and feel more in control of your emotional well-being. I am also in the process of getting trained in EMDR and look forward to being able to offer this to my clients.

What can a client expect from their first session with you?

My top priority during the first session is making you feel safe, heard, and understood. I also want you to see that there is hope, no matter how much you might be struggling. We'll spend the time talking about what's been bringing you in, what your experience has been like, and what your hopes are for therapy. I create a safe space for you to ask me any questions you have about the process and for us to decide together if it feels like a good fit. More than anything, I want you to walk away from that first session feeling validated and with a sense of hope that things can get better and a good idea of how we can work together.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone struggling with their mental health, what would it be?

I would want them to know that change is truly possible and that where you are right now is not where you have to stay. It takes courage to bring your struggles into awareness, but that is the first step toward healing.

What do you hope clients take away from their work with you?

My deepest hope is that clients walk away from our work together feeling validated, less alone, and more in control of their decisions. I want them to have a "toolbox" of skills so that they can navigate challenges in their lives with more confidence and self-compassion. Ultimately, I hope they find their strength and find a path back to feeling like themselves again, or finding a new, resilient version of themselves, so they can experience more peace, connection, and joy in their lives.

Is there anything else that you'd like to share?

I just want to emphasize what a privilege it is to walk alongside my clients during such a vulnerable and transformative time in their lives. Whether you are facing the heartbreak of loss, the uncertainty of infertility, or the overwhelming adjustment to a new baby, my goal is simply to provide the compassionate, non-judgmental support you need to do the meaningful work of healing.
