About Ariell

Ariell’s approach is gentle, grounded, and judgment-free, utilizing somatic therapies like breathwork and IFS to help clients listen to their bodies.

With advanced training in perinatal mental health and neurodivergence, she supports parents as they navigate trauma, identity integration, and the journey to reconnect with their authentic selves.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I have intimate experience watching mothers in my family tree break cycles and heal intergenerational trauma. I know first-hand how overwhelming it feels, and I have a deep drive to support mental wellness for my kids. Learning nervous system and emotional regulation is hard, tireless work, and I feel inspired daily to do this work myself and support others in doing the same.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

I work closely with perinatal clients navigating pregnancy, postpartum changes, birth trauma, and identity integration. My background in perinatal mood disorders guides how I support women using parenthood as a portal to reconnect with their authentic selves. I also work with neurodivergent parents and families and am trained as an Affirming ADHD and Autism Spectrum Assessment Provider.

How would you describe your approach to therapy?

My theoretical orientation is Somatic Based and Trauma Informed. I integrate somatic therapies, like breathwork, sensorimotor work, and somatic IFS, to help my clients slow down, listen to their bodies, and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. My approach is gentle, grounded, and judgment-free because I deeply respect how hard it can be to juggle life, emotional baggage, and nervous system overwhelm all at once.

What can a client expect from their first session with you?

Above all, I aim to create a warm, relatable, grounded space where you will feel held, understood, and empowered. I believe healing doesn’t require perfection, just honesty, warmth, and a space where you can show up exactly as you are, even on the hard days.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone struggling with their mental health, what would it be?

Remember that healing doesn't require perfection. We often feel we need to be 'fixed,' but my advice is to focus on becoming real, not perfect. Learning to regulate your nervous system is hard work, so give yourself grace.

What do you hope clients take away from their work with you?

My goal is to help people feel more connected, more capable, and more themselves. I want my clients to leave our work together having processed trauma and regulated their bodies, feeling empowered throughout their own unique journey.

Is there anything else that you'd like to share?

I am a mother to five amazing children and one new puppy, so I understand the fullness of family life! I have lived in Charlotte, NC for over ten years but am originally from Connecticut. Also, if I wasn't a therapist, I would be a midwife because the process of birth amazes me.
