Meet Ashlyn

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I am passionate about climbing into the trenches with clients and empowering them to realize their full potential. My inspiration comes from a deep desire to help people gain confidence in their own abilities to navigate life's challenges and stressors. I believe in working collaboratively to help you achieve not just short-term improvements, but lasting, long-term change.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

I have specialized experience working with individuals and parents navigating the journey to parenthood and beyond. This includes providing support for issues related to pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, miscarriage, and infant loss. I also work with parents as they navigate the unique challenges of each stage of parenting, and have experience supporting clients with a history of eating disorders as they adjust to body changes during pregnancy and postpartum.

How would you describe your approach to therapy?

My approach is direct, active, and person-centered, and I prioritize meeting you where you are at. We will work together to identify small, reasonable changes that can be easily implemented into your lifestyle, building from there rather than feeling overwhelmed. I utilize an integrative approach, drawing from Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and incorporating elements of ACT and CBT to best support you.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone struggling with their mental health, what would it be?

My advice is to start with small, sustainable changes. You don't have to overhaul your entire life overnight. Focusing on one manageable change that you can easily implement is often the first step to building momentum, gaining confidence, and creating a foundation for lasting well-being.

What do you hope clients take away from their work with you?

I hope clients leave our work together feeling empowered and more confident in their ability to handle whatever challenges come their way. My goal is for you to have a practical toolkit of strategies that you can adapt for future use. Ultimately, I want you to experience significant symptom reduction and a lasting improvement in your overall well-being.

Is there anything else that you'd like to share?

I am a mom of two and I love cheering them on from the sidelines each weekend. I also love traveling, exploring new places and cultures, and am always up for an adventure and new experiences.
