Meet Nadine

What inspired you to become a therapist?

My life experiences have given me a unique lens through which I view this profession. While serving as an Army Medic deployed to Iraq, I was awarded the chance to work alongside a Clinical Social Worker whose compassion was so impressive it sparked my enthusiasm for this field. That experience, combined with my own non-linear journey to motherhood, deepened my passion and confirmed that there is truly no other field I would rather be in.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

I have over ten years of experience supporting diverse populations, including serving Veterans and their families as they adjusted to medical challenges and life transitions. My work focuses on the perinatal period, helping clients manage mood disorders, mourn idealized pregnancies, cope with perinatal loss, and navigate the intrinsic and extrinsic stressors of parenthood. I am passionate about working with this population and providing support wherever you are on your journey.

How would you describe your approach to therapy?

I focus on building a personal relationship to earn your trust and create a safe, open space to process and prioritize a growth mindset. To guide our collaborative treatment, I channel my energy to foster understanding and demonstrate empathy. I tailor my therapeutic approach to best match your needs, incorporating modalities like Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy within a trauma-informed, holistic, and culturally competent framework.

What can a client expect from their first session with you?

You can expect a warm and collaborative environment where we can begin to build rapport. The decision to enter therapy is an important one, and I honor that by creating space for you to share your story and experiences. Our first session is about understanding what brought you here, and together, we will start to explore your goals with compassion and awareness.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone struggling with their mental health, what would it be?

I would want you to know that the decision to enter therapy is, in itself, an act of strength and an example of overcoming an obstacle by choosing to grow. It’s a powerful step toward better understanding yourself. You have already demonstrated courage just by seeking support.

What do you hope clients take away from their work with you?

My goal is to provide a safe space where you can better understand yourself with compassion and awareness. I hope you leave our work together feeling encouraged and empowered, with a prioritized growth mindset and a belief in your own resilience. Ultimately, I want to help you feel more accepting of yourself and confident in your ability to navigate challenges.

Is there anything else that you'd like to share?

I am a proud Army Veteran. When I'm not working, I enjoy scrapbooking, attending live music, and am an active member of a book club.
