What inspired you to become a therapist?

My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by both my clinical training and my own life experiences. As a mother and a member of the Osage Nation, I have seen firsthand the importance of having support during big life transitions. I wanted to be the person who offers that safe space. I am driven by a desire to help individuals and families in my community heal from trauma and find their strength again. I believe that when we heal ourselves, we help heal our families and future generations.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

I specialize in working with the perinatal population. This means I support individuals and families through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. I work often with clients navigating birth trauma, infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss. I also have extensive experience working with people who are managing substance use or addiction during pregnancy. While I welcome clients from all walks of life, I have a special heart for working with diverse populations and Indigenous communities, ensuring they receive care that respects their culture and identity.

How would you describe your approach to therapy?

My approach is “integrative,” which means I combine different tools to fit your specific needs. I focus heavily on the connection between the mind and the body. Trauma and stress often live in our bodies, not just our thoughts, so I use methods like EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Biofeedback to help calm your nervous system. I am also “culturally responsive,” meaning I honor your background, traditions, and spiritual beliefs as a central part of your healing process.

What can a client expect from their first session with you?

The first session is really about building trust and safety. I know it can be scary to start therapy, so my main goal is to meet you exactly where you are without any judgment. We will talk about what brings you in, but we will go at your pace. I want to create a supportive space where you feel heard and understood.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone struggling with their mental health, what would it be?

You do not have to carry this weight alone. So often, especially in parenthood or when dealing with trauma, we feel like we have to be strong for everyone else. But true strength is allowing yourself to receive support. Reaching out is the first step toward reconnecting with yourself. Be gentle with yourself and remember that healing is a journey, not a race.

What do you hope clients take away from their work with you?

I hope my clients leave therapy feeling more resilient and connected, both to themselves and to their loved ones. I want them to feel that they have the tools to handle life’s challenges and the ability to find calm in the chaos. Ultimately, I want them to know that their story matters, that their trauma does not define them, and that they are capable of deep healing and joy.

Is there anything else that you'd like to share?

I am a proud Ena (mother) to seven beautiful girls and one baby boy, so I understand the beautiful chaos of family life! I am very active in my Osage culture and the Native American Peyote Church, which grounds me personally and professionally. I am also a lifelong learner and am currently pursuing my PhD in Mind-Body Medicine to ensure I am always bringing the best, most holistic care to my clients.
